ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE

JENNY JOHNSTONE - BIO
Southern Highlands-based artist Jenny Johnstone trained in jewellery design and manufacture at Design Centre Enmore, Sydney, before moving to Adelaide to undertake the two-year Associate Program at JamFactory (Jewellery and Metal Studio). During this time, Jenny was the recipient of a Residency Scholarship at Bundanon Art Museum and was the winner of the Emerging category in the Robert Foster Metal Prize, a national prize open to Australian-based metalworking artists.

Jenny’s work is centred on her fascination with the Australian landscape, its ever-changing palette, its plants, and its relationship with humans. She has a background in architecture, with a master's degree from the University of Newcastle, NSW. She has made frequent trips to remote areas of New South Wales, where the landscape is a source of inspiration. Jenny is currently artist-in-residence at Flinders Street Studio, where she curates/coordinates Arkh, a space within the studio that facilitates a workshop, store, gallery, and events.
